Upper Cumberland River Watershed Watch supports local volunteers monitoring water quality in the field. Volunteers have visited scores of sites to collect water quality data and monitor conditions in the field. Volunteers come from all walks of life including Conservation Districts, Extension Councils, College Groups, Community Groups, and stream side property owners.
Upper Cumberland River Watershed Watch works to protect recreational resources so important for tourism and outdoor sports (opportunities for which abound in our watershed!)
Upper Cumberland River Watershed Watch monitors essential parameters for aquatic life, and safety for primary and secondary contact recreation. This includes monitoring for Dissolved Oxygen, pH, Conductivity, E. Coli bacteria and habitat conditions.
Upper Cumberland River Watershed Watch offers free training in monitoring streams and rivers. Field equipment is checked out to volunteers for use in the field.
