Data was collected as part of basin wide synoptic grab sample sample events in May, June and September. All three events includes the following parameters: Temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen, conductivity, and pathogens. Pathogen anaylsis at all locations included results for e. coli as well as total coliform and fecal coliform at varying sites. In addition, field observations were generally made for stream flow, turbidity, and rainfall.
The spring event occurred on May 1st and 3rd with a total of 69 sites reporting. Of these sites 30 were found to be exceeding the Kentucky surface water standard of 240 CFU/100ml for e. coli. One site reported dry conditions and did not submit a grab sample. The complete data set for this event can be viewed at this link.
The summer event occured on June 26th and 28th with a total of 92 sites reporting. Of these sites 36 were found to be exceeding the Kentucky surface water standard of 240 CFU/100ml for e. coli. One site repoted dry conditions and did not submit a grab sample. The complete data set for this event can be viewed at this link.
The fall event occured on September 25th and 27th with a total of 75 sites reporting. Of these sites 17 were found to be exceeding the Kentucky surface water standard of 240 CFU/100ml for e. coli. Due to continued drought conditions, four sites reported dry conditions and did not submit a grab sample. The complete data set for this event can be viewed at this link.
