ABOUT OUR DATA UCWW has been collecting data thru synoptic sampling events since 1999. UCWW has historically scheduled 3 sample events per year during the spring, summer and fall seasons. To guide the data collection, UCWW has developed a Scientific Study Plan. The results of this Study Plan are a set of test parameters collected at sampling sites in the watershed. For more information about the parameters we collect and how they affect water quality, see the list below.
For a detailed listing and summary of parameters collected at each location, view the data synopsis for each sample year. Data can be accessed via the menu to the left. To see a spatial distribution of UCWW sampling sites see the Watershed Watch Viewer at this link.
Field Chemistry The following field chemistry data is collected during each sample event: Temperature Dissolved Oxygen pH Conductivity (specific conductance) Additionally volunteers are asked to make general observations about the stream flow level, turbidity and recent rainfall estimations.
Grab Sample Parameters Grab samples are collected 3 times per year for various selected parameters that may include: Fecal Pathogens Nutrients Metals Estradiol 17B Herbicides Habitat and Biological Assessment Habitat Assessment Biological Index Assessment
